Modern College Students visit State Council

HE.Dr. Khalid bin Salem Al-Saeedi, Secretary General of the State Council, received on Monday, students of the Master of Public Administration at the Modern College of Commerce and Science.
His Excellency welcomed the students, highlighting the important role of such visits in introducing students and all segments of society to the Council and the role it plays in national work within the framework of law and state institutions during the last forty years.
He outlined the competences and powers of the Council of Oman which includes both the State Council and Majlis A’ Shura.
His Excellency said that the State Council, which began its seventh term two weeks ago, will continue its tasks in accordance with its competencies and powers, which contributes to the development of the Shura process in the Sultanate, and the remarkable distinctive success denoted by the discussions of the numerous draft laws and the approval of many studies and proposals aimed at the promotion of inclusive development.
The Secretary General responded to the students' questions and queries.
The meeting was attended by Abdullah bin Saleh Al Buraiki, Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Public Relations Affairs and a number of Secretariat staff.
The students toured the Council and reviewed the various facilities and advanced equipment. The students also watched a documentary about the council
The students listened to an introductory briefing by Abdullah bin Saif Al Sibani, Director of the Department of Culture, Information and Tourism Affairs at the General Secretariat for the Affairs of the meetings and committee, which aimed to publicize the Council’s work and activities.
